We’re so happy to have found our new home in the historic Village at Grand Traverse Commons! Built in 1885, this beautiful Kirkbride-style building was thoughtfully designed with long, meandering hallways to create a calm, comfortable environment for its original patients. Today, it’s a place filled with history, creativity, and charm. That said, all those winding halls can make it a little tricky to navigate on your first visit - so we’ve put together a short, easy guide to help you find us while you’re exploring the Village. We can’t wait to welcome you!
We recommend entering 800 Cottageview Drive, Traverse City, MI 49684 into your navigation system, as this will bring you to the parking area closest to our entrance.
Building 50 has multiple entrances and addresses, which can occasionally make navigation feel more complicated than it is. This route provides the most direct access to our gallery and is the easiest way to find us.
When you pass Pleasanton Brick Oven Bakery, you’re in the right place! Park anywhere in the lots near the bakery and you’ll be just steps away from us.
Look for the Kirkbride Hall Entrance and take either the elevator (on your left when you enter) or the stairs (on your right) to the second floor. You’ll see our signs along the way!
Spend the day painting with us! Step in to our Art Café and select from our 30+ unique handmade wooden art projects (all carved by local artist, Shelly Drews) and let your creativity run wild. Grab a coffee from Higher Grounds, or Cuppa Joe, and sweet treat from Sugar 2 Salt, and spend a peaceful afternoon making memories.
if you’re feeling spontaneous, feel free to drop in and grab a painting table whenever we’re open. If you like to plan ahead, or if you have a larger group (6+), we’d love it if you reserved a table in advance.
