Michigan Black Bear Art Cafe Project

from $28.00

Bring a little piece of Northern Michigan home with this sweet Black Bear Art Café project. Hand carved from wood by Shelly Drews in Traverse City, each bear is uniquely shaped with a smooth, ready-to-paint finish. Chose from three different sizes to add charm to your collection.

Create your own painted version inspired by starry night skies, warm summer sunsets, or paint a classic Michigan black bear and start a whole collection for your shelf. These bears look especially charming grouped together, telling a story of Northern Michigan summers.

Whether you are painting in our gallery or taking one home, this project is simple, relaxing, and fun, perfect for all skill levels and a meaningful reminder of time spent up north.

DIMENSIONS:

Small: roughly 5” tall, Medium: roughly 6” tall, Large: roughly 7” tall

If you plan to paint here in person - we will supply paint and brushes for you to complete this project.

Recommended Paint:

Tips:

  • Start with a neutral base coat on your project first. The wood absorbs a lot of paint, so laying down one solid layer helps the other colors glide on more smoothly and look more vibrant.

  • If you really wanna go all the way, give your project a light sanding after your base coat dries. Focus on the edges and sand off any rough bits of wood left by the band saw.
